Origins & History
It all began decades ago in a nondescript north Jersey suburb called Wayne. That's where then college student Dave Crump, his pals Mike and Steve, and a host of other high school and college kids came together to "piss their summers away" working at what was then known as Loews Wayne Sixplex. All of the characters and incidents in Multiplexing were inspired by real life experiences that took place over three summers working at the theater, during which many lasting friendships were formed.

After the screenplay (and a preliminary budget and shooting schedule) were completed, the project gained a lot of early momentum. The director of classic 80's comedies Better Off Dead and One Crazy Summer (who at the time was helming TV shows for Nickelodeon) got a hold of the script and signed on to direct.
Next, the film got announced in Variety; a casting director, actors, and other pieces were added; things were looking great... But then the film's funding fell through; the production start got delayed and the attachments decided to move on.
But with fresh energy and new momentum behind it, Multiplexing will soon be headed back into pre-production!
A teen/ensemble/workplace comedy that traces all of the on-the-job lunacy that takes place behind the scenes at the movies, Multiplexing features a contemporary setting, style, and language that appeals to today’s youth, and also explores classic themes of rebellion, teenage crushes, and coming of age. Oh, and we can't forget the healthy doses of 80's nostalgia that are sure to resonate with Gen X-ers and all those who spent their Fast Times at Ridgemont High and hung out with The Breakfast Club!
